Exclusive: Listen To Ed Sheeran's 'Even My Dad Does Sometimes'

Get your tissues out.

Ed Sheeran seriously knows how to tug on the heart strings.

The singer teamed up with MTV on Thursday (June 19) to premiere a brand-new track off the deluxe edition of X, "Even My Dad Does Sometimes."

The somber ballad shows off Ed's calming vocals as he sings about asking someone to hold on to him -- and life -- even though they have already given up.

"It's all right to cry/ Even my dad does sometimes/ So don't wipe your eyes/ Tears remind you you're alive/ It's all right to die/ 'Cause that's the only thing you haven't tried/ Just for tonight hold on," he sings.

"Even My Dad Does Sometimes" is one of four songs off the deluxe edition, which also includes his song "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" track "I See Fire."

Fans got a sneak peak at the just-released track when Ed, who has been releasing tracks all week in anticipation of his sophomore effort, performed it live at New York's Irving Plaza back on July 24, 2012. At the time the song was called rumored to be called "Hold On."

MTV will be premiering three more songs off Ed's album, which drops June 23, each day from now until Sunday, so make sure you check back tomorrow!
