An Aaliyah movie is finally coming, but did casting directors pick the right actress to play the late R&B star? A&E Television Networks is readying an original Lifetime movie that will be based on Christopher John Farley’s book "Aaliyah: More Than A Woman, “Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B," with Disney channel actress Zendaya playing the lead role.

Aaliyah was 22 years old at the time of her death in 2001, but she's left a permanent mark on culture. Drake, an avid fan, has Aaliyah's face tattooed on his back and last year he attempted to work on an album that would feature her unreleased music. The backlash he received was swift, and so far there have been no more words on it.
