Jason Momoa To Play Aquaman, Get Punched In The Face

MTV News will exclusively get to punch 'Justice League' star right in his beautiful face.

It's official: "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa is going to get punched in the face.

Also, after months of rumors, and a recent strongly worded rumor/confirmation from site HitFix, Variety has also confirmed that Momoa will play the DC Comics superhero Aquaman in both the upcoming "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice," and its sequel "Justice League."

But you know what that also means? That means MTV News' own Joshua Horowitz is going to punch Momoa. In the face.

When we caught up with Momoa at the Sundance Film Festival in January, we addressed the rumors the former Dothraki barbarian would play the King of the Seven Seas in what was then titled "Batman vs. Superman."

"I get it all the time. It’s just a rumor. I swear," Momoa said on the Aquaman scuttlebutt. "Man to man. You can punch me in the face [if I'm lying]. You’re allowed to punch me in the face."

And now, it's time for Momoa to pay the piper. With the role officially confirmed, it seems that the next time we see the actor, he's going to get a face full of Horowitz style justice.

For his part, Horowitz is out of the country right now -- which may or may not be a coincidence -- but when I last asked him whether he'd follow through, and smack the 6'4" tall Momoa right in the kisser, Horowitz looked nervous, and said, "I really don't want to do that."

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on May 6, 2016. Momoa may, or may not, get punched some time before that.
