Before Tom Cruise hits the big screen in his latest movie, "Edge of Tomorrow," he stopped by "The Tonight Show" to wallop its host in the face with a football. As one does.

The main event on Wednesday's show: a new game called "Face Breakers," in which Cruise and host Jimmy Fallon took turns trying to throw footballs through glass panels printed with each other's faces. The game is won when you, Tom Cruise, break all of the Jimmy Fallon faces — or, as happened last night, when Jimmy Fallon can't quite aim the ball and repeatedly breaks his own face.

It must be said that neither competitor was very good at this game, but we're still deeply impressed (and okay, maybe a little disappointed) that nobody was impaled by flying shards of glass.
