'X-Men: Days Of Future Past': Meet The Kid Who Played Apocalypse

He's not who the internet thought he was.

No, that's not Logan Lerman in the "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" post-credits scene.

Spoilers for "Days of Future Past," past this point!

Lerman, last seen in "Noah" and known for the title role in the "Percy Jackson" series, was the subject of furious internet rumors this past weekend, as fans exited "Days of Future Past" positing that he might be the man in the grey face makeup spotted in Ancient Egypt.

That man, of course, is the villain known as Apocalypse, and the eventual antagonist of 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse." Naturally, if Lerman was already cast -- even if the scene was set thousands of years in the past -- it would mean he might also show up two years from now in the sequel.

But, as confirmed to MTV News by a source at FOX, that is not, in fact, Lerman in the post credits scene. It's this guy:

Brendan Pedder is an 18-year-old actor from Montreal with -- as far as a cursory internet search shows -- no real credits to his name. However, it seems he was in the right place at the right time: "Days of Future Past" filmed from April to August of 2013 in Montreal, which clearly didn't hurt the native Canadian's casting.

As to whether Pedder will continue the role two years from now, we'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, let's all speculate what Logan Lerman could play if he was cast in an "X-Men" movie.

Young Scott Summers, perhaps?
