Edgar Wright Has Left ‘Ant-Man’ And Now I’m Sad

Well, this sucks.

After waiting years for the greenlight to bring his take on Ant-Man to the screen, director Edgar Wright is no longer on the Marvel Studios movie.

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Borys Kit passed along a statement from Marvel, which claims the departure was “due to differences in their vision of the film.”

The company continued saying, “The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”

Sorry, everybody.

We’ll keep you updated as the story develops and as a new director is hired for “Ant-Man,” which is still scheduled for release in July 2015.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.
