It's not just pretend-girlfriends Amy and Karma who are putting up a front on "Faking It." Evidently, Hester High School's ball-busting prototype, Lauren, isn't quite what she appears to be, either. On Tuesday night's episode, Lauren took on the tall task of planning a bridal shower for her soon-to-be step-mother, and though she planned each and every detail to a T, the stress of organizing the festivities ultimately broke her down.

Since Lauren moved to Austin with her father, she's felt like an outsider. Though her beauty pageant looks and ties to the football team would probably earn her popularity in most other schools, she's at the bottom of the social totem pole in Texas' blue blip, and when Amy lashed out at Lauren during the bridal shower, accusing her of befriending the bride-to-be just to get under Amy's skin, Lauren's repressed insecurities came to the surface.

"Even though she's 20 years older than me, she's the best friend I have in this stupid town," Lauren barked at Amy through tears. A far cry from the girl who doesn't hesitate to call her classmates bow-wows.
