Ab-Soul Might Piss Off His Label To Keep His Fans Happy

The TDE rapper is itching to put out his new music.

Back in December, Top Dawg Entertainment revealed plans to drop six albums in 2014. So far, they're halfway there ‒ and Ab-Soul may expedite the release of the fourth project before long.

"I'm this close to just leakin my sh-- like its a mixtape...." the Cali-bred rapper wrote on Twitter late Thursday. "im gettin very impatient shorty ma! young n---a tryinna move this dope!"

It's hard to blame Soulo for his eagerness. Back in February, he tweeted that the album was finished, and he was just waiting on a release date. He urged fans to tweet at the label's CEO, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, to speed up the process.

"The project IS finished tho, follow @dangerookipawaa for further details #TDE," he said.

It's not like Soul has remained idle while waiting, though. A couple weeks back, he announced that he's at work on a new mixtape, Longterm 3. He also revealed in April that he's been adding songs to the album while it sits in limbo.

With TDE having released projects from Schoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad and SZA already this year, it seems safe to assume that Ab-Soul is on deck, with Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar to follow. When that date will come, though? We may finally know more on Monday.

On Friday afternoon (May 2), Top Dawg responded to Ab-Soul on Twitter, writing "I DARE A N---A ON MY TEAM LEAK HIS ALBUM.....#TDE." In addition, he promised to give updates on Ab-Soul after the weekend.

As we wait, check out, "Tree of Life," which the Black Lip Bastard dropped in April. There's no word on whether it will end up on the album, mixtape, or neither. You can stream it below.
