Bastille Broke Out With 'Pompeii,' And Now They're MTV's Artist To Watch

The British band already has a stateside smash, and they've got plenty more in store.

Bastille has had a song on the Billboard Hot 100 for 25 weeks now and just performed on "Saturday Night Live" last month ... so, yes, we feel pretty comfortable declaring them one of MTV's 2014 Artists To Watch.

Since forming in 2010, these four Brits have ridden a steady stream of buzz to (almost) the top of the U.K. charts -- their soaring smash, "Pompeii" made it to #2 back home, and has become a mainstay in the Top 10 here in the states, too -- and they're in the running for the biggest prizes at the 2014 BRIT Awards, which will be handed out next week.

After all, stateside success is within their grasp. So rather than shrink from the spotlight, Bastille plan on turning 2014 into their own personal showcase ... which is why, though they've already accomplished much in recent months, we think they're destined for even bigger things this year. And beyond.

But don't take our word on it. Here's what Bastille has to say about going for greatness:
