We've always been convinced that Kel Mitchell and Waka Flocka Flame are brothers from another mother, and the Atlanta rapper has finally decided to come to terms with that.
After years of fielding comparisons to the former Nickelodeon star, Waka Flocka teamed up with him to remix the infamous "Orange Soda" skit from "Kenan & Kel." It will air in full during "Retromania: Hip Hop," a new 60-minute special that pays homage to the 1990s and 2000s and officially kicks off on Saturday, February 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
The original "Orange Soda" skit, which finds Kel gushing about his love for the fizzy drink, has found its way into other pop culture moments, like Vic Mensa's own "Orange Soda," video. But Waka took it a step further by spitting the "2014 Orange Soda Rap Remix" with Kel, which confirms that the drink is "cold, carbonated and it sure ain't pink."
Every afternoon this week, through Saturday, MTV viewers can catch previews of some hilarious "Retromania" segments. They'll air in between the network's programming lineup, including the fan-favorite series "Run's House." The launch week will culminate with the one-hour special, "Retromania: Hip Hop." Celebs from 2 Chainz to Mac Miller and the Backstreet Boys to One Direction are all getting in on the action.
