Missed The Grammys? Here's 5 Crazy Things That Happened

Daft Punk's Album of the Year win and Macklemore's moving "Same Love" performance top our must-see stories.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards rocked the Staples Center on Sunday (January 26) with collaborative performances, some surprising wins and one incredible booty pat. There was witchy fashion, notable headwear and some noticeable absences on the red carpet. But most of all, there was an undeniable sense of unity as artists from every genre came together to celebrate the best in the biz. Here are the highlights from this year's Grammys.

Daft Punk Wins One For Robots Everywhere

The Random Access Memories duo had a night to remember at the 2014 Grammy Awards when they took home the award for Album of the Year. Their performance of their hit "Get Lucky" with Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder, was only the second time in six years the pair have performed on television. Was it worth the wait? We think so.

Beyoncé's Booty Breaks The Internet

Queen Bey opened the 2014 Grammy Awards with a twerk-tastic rendition of her hit "Drunk (In Love)." Rocking a black bodysuit and wet hair, Beyoncé spun on a slowly rotating platform, proving her power vocals and her insane dance skills with ease. But it was when her hubby Hova appeared on stage that the performance heated up to smokin' hot. The moment where Jay Z grabbed his wife's butt basically broke the internet. We can't seem to get the GIF out of our minds... nor do we want to.

Underneath It's All The 'Same Love'

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis made history with a moving performance of their Grammy-winning song "Same Love" on Sunday night. The duo, joined on stage by Mary Lambert and Trombone Shorty, sang their anthem to the Staples Center as Queen Latifah officiated a wedding of thirty eclectic and beautiful couples. The end of the performance brought Madonna on stage to seamlessly weave in a version of her song "Open Your Heart" while viewers around the world simultaneously sobbed with joy.

Katy, Lorde And Madonna: The Red Carpet Coven

The Grammys red carpet had both hits and misses but our favorite trend of the night was all the witchy wear. Madonna donned a sophisticated suit with a wide-brimmed hat and cross shaped broach at her neck. Lorde went full goth with a blood-tinted lip, black satin gown and ink-dipped fingers while Katy's "Dark Horse" performance looked like a scene straight out of "The Craft."

Justin Bieber Skips Grammys For Panama

A face that was noticeably missing from this year's Grammy Awards is one recently seen smiling in a mug shot. Bieber was apparently absent because he's in Panama with manager Scooter Braun, BFF Ryan Butler and mentor Usher. Though, according to reports, the dudes aren't on a casual vacation. Bieber's friends are staging a sit-down with the singer to talk some sense in to him after his bad behavior has landed him in hot water recently. Jury's still out on whether or not any kind of intervention might have an impact.
