'Pretty Little Liars' Cast On Tonight's Premiere: 'This Season Is The Season Of Answers'

The cast breaks down for MTV News what fans can expect from the ABC Family drama, premiering Tuesday.

Buckle your seatbelts, folks! "Pretty Little Liars" fans sound like they are in for a wild ride when the series returns on Tuesday (January 7).

Spoilers Ahead

The show has had some earth-shattering episodes this season. During the summer finale, viewers learned that Ezra is likely A, the show's infamous and mysterious tormentor. Then, the equally crazy Halloween episode revealed that Allison is still alive.

Now, the soapy ABC Family show returns to the TV this week with just as many twists and turns, the castmembers told us. In Rosewood, nothing is what it seems.

"[Showrunner I.] Marlene [King] said at the beginning of this season, this season is the season of answers," Sasha Pieterse, who plays Allison, teased to MTV News. "And we are getting them, especially in the second half of the fourth season. Almost every single question you can think of from 'Pretty Little Liars' will be answered in the second half of the fourth season I have to say."

While the Allison reveal will continue to unravel, "PLL" fans will also get to see the consequences of the Ezra (Ian Harding) reveal, and how it will affect his tight bond with the Liars, especially with on-again, off-again girlfriend, Aria (Lucy Hale).

Hale said, "I can't reveal if they ever even do find out, but if they do, Aria was obviously the closest to him. But this was a very important person in all the girls' lives. And so it just reinforces that you can't trust anyone. You can't trust anyone, not even your loved ones. And so I think they'll just be a little more skeptical about everyone."

Troian Bellisario wasn't as quick to cop to the Ezra revelation.

"Well who says that Ezra is A? I mean, are you so sure of that?" Bellisario said. "It definitely seems like it. I will say that what I can say is that the world does change based on the girls believing truly that Ezra is A, especially [my character] Spencer. Spencer takes it [hard] because she has such a close friendship with Aria. She takes it incredibly personally, so it becomes a huge driving force, perhaps a negative driving force, for Spencer in 4B."

The drama isn't just reserved for EzRia. Spencer also will find herself in a bit of hot water as season four comes to a climax.

"I always joke on set, 'So the girls are always off on dates or Aria's always making out with Ezra. And Spencer's always in the woods, like bloody and crying and running around and trying to not be killed.' So more of that in the future for Spencer," Bellisario teased. "And also I kind of gave the challenge to the producers; we had Radley [Sanitarium] last year. I went crazy last year. What are you going to give me this year? And so they answered me with what I got in 4B, so it's really exciting."

"Pretty Little Liars" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
