'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Presents Electrifying International Posters

Jamie Foxx's Electro takes center stage in two electric new posters for the 'Amazing Spider-Man' sequel.

If the marketing campaign for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" had to be summed up in a single word, "electric" might do the trick.

At the very least, the Sony superhero sequel has just put out two electric new international posters, both of which feature Andrew Garfield's web-slinging hero doing battle against his latest nemesis: the vicious Electro, played by Oscar winner Jamie Foxx.

Both posters take place in [article id="1719767"]New York City's Times Square[/article], the site of one of the film's most important action sequences. In one poster, Spidey flies high over the city streets, aiming his web-shooter at Electro as the hooded villain sprays blue electric energy in every direction.

The second poster is a close-up on Spider-Man's mask, with Electro seen in the reflection of Spidey's bug-eye lens.

With so much emphasis on Electro, it would be easy to miss yet another look at Dane DeHaan as a Goblin-enhanced Harry Osborn. In the second poster, DeHaan's Harry appears on a television display just beyond Electro's shoulder. It's another sign that Peter Parker's old friend will become one of his deadliest adversaries yet -- possibly even deadlier than Electro.

For now, however, Sony's marketing initiative seems to be moving away from showcasing the sequel's many villains, and toward an Electro emphasis instead. Such a move certainly falls in line with what's been said about "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" thus far: Even though numerous nemeses are part of the picture, the "Amazing" sequel is very much Electro-centric, by all accounts.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, and Paul Giamatti as The Rhino. The movie swings into theaters on May 2, 2014.
