'Voice' Contestant Cole Vosbury Reveals Real Hairy Reason He Was Eliminated

Team Blake's last remaining member lost the 'source' of his power and, therefore, the competition.

All aboard the #ColeTrain? Apparently not.

Cole Vosbury's journey on "The Voice" came to an end on Tuesday night as the last remaining member of Blake Shelton's team found himself eliminated, leaving the three-time reigning coach in the dust. Vosbury and fellow eliminee James Wolpert (Team Adam) received the lowest number of votes, but the bearded soul singer reveals that's not the real reason he lost.

Vosbury made waves from his blind audition, being the first singer to audition with the "Jeffersons" theme song. At the time, Cee Lo Green was the only coach to turn his chair, but after the Goodie Mob singer knocked out Vosbury in favor of Johnny Gray, Shelton swooped in for the steal, promising to help the talented singer find his niche. Since then, it's been up and up for Vosbury. But despite having a strong, consistent run on the reality competition, with hits like Miguel's "Adorn" and his most-recent rendition of Garth Brook's "Shameless," it wasn't enough against his stiff competition.

With the pressures of being a top five already high, Vosbury struggled with the extra load he carried: the "legacy" of Team Blake.

"I felt a lot of weight on my shoulders being the only person on Team Blake left because Team Blake is always really strong," Vosbury said, "At this point they're always in the finale and I just, kind of, felt a lot of pressure not to let him down and not let the Team Blake legacy down."

While he's still figuring out his niche, Vosbury now realizes his coach is "proud" of his journey and feels "vindicated," adding his belief in ordered chaos because the sudden addition of an extra steal is what bought him an opportunity to get this far in the competition. "I think I ended up in the perfect spot, and I don't know if I'd have made it to top five if I stayed with Team Cee Lo," Vosbury says.

Although he didn't make it to the end, Vosbury reveals he wasn't surprised by the announcement after discovering his fellow contestants charted higher on iTunes, an indicator of the final results. But while dishing some manscaping advice to MTV News, Vosbury offered another explanation for his elimination.

"Never let 'em cut it [your beard] because it's the source of all your powers ... Monday night they cut my beard and Tuesday night I went home, so ..."
