Once you've watched the trailer for Tom Cruise's sci-fi actioner "Edge of Tomorrow," one major question emerges: what if you replaced all the audio in the trailer with Lady Gaga's 2011 single "The Edge of Glory," and then replaced the word "glory" with the word "tomorrow?"

Luckily, MTV News has answered that eternal question with a mash-up trailer that, you know, answers that question.

Biggest surprise? The song actually ties into the trailer extremely well, with the lyrics by Lady Gaga, Fernando Garibay, and Paul Blair syncing up fabulously with scenes of Tom Cruise reliving the same day of an alien war over and over again.

It's almost like they planned it, but they definitely didn't. Particularly since as far as we know, Gaga and Cruise have never met each other in real life, or have any idea who the other person is; though hopefully this video will finally bring them together.

"The Edge of Glory" is off Lady Gaga's 2011 album Born This Way. "Edge of Tomorrow" hits theaters on June 6, 2014.
