This past weekend Future put a ring on it, proposing to girlfriend and fellow musician Ciara. The couple confirmed their relationship back in January, and the Atlanta-bred rapper and producer reveals that he took extra care to plan a moment that Ci Ci wouldn't forget.

"I feel different but it's great," Future told MTV News of being engaged. "It's a great situation and I'm happy about it. I'm excited about it and I know she's super happy. I just feel good to be able to make someone happy."

The 29-year-old popped the question during Ciara's birthday weekend and explained that it had been a long time in the making, but she still didn't see it coming. "She was definitely surprised," he said. "I've been planning it for a minute, I took some time, I really thought about the ring, I was just taking my time with it because I wanted it to be special for her."

Ciara hasn't been shy about showing off her new 15-carat diamond ring, and earlier this year she explained why she and Future have been so openly affectionate on social media and in public, with him even appearing as her love interest in the "Body Party" music video.

"That's where I am at this day and time in my life and I'm also with someone who makes me extremely comfortable to be that way, which is really important," she told MTV News. "The way that he makes me feel, why not? If you love somebody you should express it, and now I understand that. There's nothing sexy about hiding your love. There's nothing sexy about people not acknowledging each other."

Future wouldn't give up any details on their wedding plans just yet, only asking that fans "stay tuned" to see what goes down, but he definitely saw this one coming a long time ago. "This it.....I don't get into nothing to get out. We haven't set a date, [but] this the one." he said during a radio interview with Hot 97 in August. "I said it seven years ago, so for it to come around and happen it was meant to be."
