New 'Fifty Shades' Rumors Spring Up: Is James Franco Really Down?

More names, including Britney Spears' pick James Franco, have been added to the Christian Grey list after Charlie Hunnam's exit last week.

There seems to be an orgy of rumors regarding who just might end up playing Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

Since Charlie Hunnam left the project last week, a number of hunks, including Alexander Skarsgard and Theo James, have been attached to the project.

With fans eagerly anticipating confirmation about who will join Dakota Johnson in the flick, more and more casting rumors continue to swirl about the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed project, slated for release August 1, 2014.

"Home and Away" star Luke Bracey is one of the latest contenders who are reportedly circling the project. The Aussie actor is said to be one of the folks talking to the studio along with Billy Magnussen, who is currently filming the big-screen adaptation of "Into The Woods," E! News reports.

Meanwhile, Just Jared reports that the Francois Arnaud, best known for his work on "The Borgias," is also in talks for the recently vacated role.

With no one confirmed yet, casting directors just might want to listen to Britney Spears. The pop star recently named her choice to play the kinky billionaire. "I love James Franco," Spears said in a recent radio interview with KIIS FM, the Huffington Post reports. "I think he's really cool."

Given Franco's interest in films about sex, he just might make for an interesting pick. In fact, when MTV News spoke to Franco at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, he explained that his film, "Kink," was right in the vein of E.L. James' bestseller.

"This is for all the '50 Shades of Grey' fans," he said. "This is what you're reading about. This is the real thing. This is what it looks like. This isn't the dime store version of bondage. This is what bondage is like."
