What Lauren Conrad's Road To Mr. Right Taught Us About Dating
It looks like a Hollywood "Hills" ending for Lauren Conrad! The MTV darling confirmed her engagement to former Something Corporate rocker William Tell over the weekend.
The onetime star of "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" took to her blog on Sunday to share the news, writing, "I am very excited to share with you guys that William and I got engaged over the weekend. I am beyond thrilled! Get ready for lots more wedding content here on LaurenConrad.com as we begin the planning process."
The news should be sweet for fans of the reality star-turned-lifestyle guru/author/fashion designer. Of course, LC had spent the better part of the last nine years living and loving for the entire world to see. After she kicked off her reality TV run in September 2004 on "Laguna," she moved to L.A. to continue to tell her story on "The Hills" in 2006. Fans went on dates, good and bad, with LC, before she left TV in 2009 and dated without the prying eye of the camera lens.
But before she said "yes" to William, LC did her fair share of dating. The 'L.A. Candy' author is living proof that there are certain types of guys every girl should date before she ties the knot. MTV News takes a closer look.
The Heartbreaker
LC famously crushed on Stephen Colletti during her time on "Laguna." But the romance hit a snag when Kristin Cavallari also had the hots for him. In the end, it was K-Cav who won the heart of the high school Casanova.
The Bad Boy
By the time that LC was on "The Hills," she had found love with Jason Wahler. In fact, she had so much faith in their romance that she famously [article id="1637796"]chose Jason over Paris[/article]. But, Jason and LC were not meant to be, even if longtime rival Spencer Pratt tried to cook up [article id="1612109"]rumors of a sex tape[/article], for which he later, rather shockingly, apologized for.
The Bestie
Who could forget the short but sweet romance between LC and Brody Jenner? Their [article id="1601805"]"friendmance,"[/article] as Jenner would later describe it, turned into just friendship. It even got a final nod in an [article id="1643619"]alternate ending for "The Hills,"[/article] filmed back in 2010.
The Playboy
Back in 2008, LC dated fellow [article id="1613828"]Laguna Beach native, Doug Reinhardt[/article]. He made some appearances on "The Hills," but alas they couldn't recapture the magic they once had back in high school.
The Hollywood Star
LC started dating "My Boys" actor, Kyle Howard, back in 2008. They went out for three years and eventually fended off engagement rumors in 2011. Shortly after the split, LC was rumored to be painting the town red with the likes of Chace Crawford, Cory Monteith and "Teen Wolf" star Colton Haynes.
The True Love
Lauren and William Tell began dating in early 2012 before he popped the question over the weekend. And, back in June, she gushed to Marie Claire about why the former musician is the right guy for her. "He is very good for me because we have a lot in common as far as where we grew up," she said. "It's the first time I'm with someone and I'm not explaining things. He also has experience in the entertainment industry, so he understands a lot of things that people don't always get."
