Taylor Lautner is ready to take on his most adult role yet, playing fictional porn star Dirk Diggler in director Jason Reitman's live reading of "Boogie Nights."

The role was made famous by Mark Wahlberg in Paul Thomas Anderson's 1997 film of the same name. However, E! News reports that while Wahlberg bared skin in the flick, Lautner will remain fully clothed in Reitman's version. The reading will take place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Thursday.

Lautner will be joined by Mae Whitman (as Rollergirl, played unforgettably by Heather Graham in 1997), Judy Greer (as Amber Waves), Kevin Pollak (as the Colonel), Jim Rash (as Buck Swope), Jarod Einsohn (as Todd Parker) and Jurnee Smollett as (Jessie St. Vincent). Those roles were confirmed by Reitman on Twitter.

Reitman recently staged another reading of "Boogie Nights" at Toronto International Film Festival. In that version, Jesse Eisenberg filled in for Dirk Diggler.

Lautner will be tackling a completely different kind of role in his next flick, "Tracers." The film, out next year, is about a bike messenger (Lautner), deep in debt, who gets tangled in the world of parkour. MTV News was on set with the [article id="1713527"]"Twilight" star[/article] when he was making the film in NYC.

"This movie is a great mix [of acting and physicality]. I really wanted to do something that was different for me," he said. "When I read 'Tracers,' it was unlike anything I had done before. It's a very character-driven movie. It's dramatic. My character's journey throughout the thing is really crazy. It's challenged me as an actor, but also the physical side as well. It's a really good combination."
