Miley Cyrus: 7 Things We Learned From Her Revealing 'Rolling Stone' Interview

From being besties with Kanye West to becoming Steve Carrell's arch nemesis, MTV News picked out the best tidbits from the cover story.

Miley Cyrus isn't afraid to let it all hang out.

With her hair slicked back, her eye makeup smudged and her tongue sticking out, Cyrus poses nude for the cover of the October issue of Rolling Stone magazine.

Cyrus holds nothing back in the revealing interview, where she openly speaks on topics ranging from her 2013 VMA performance to her friendships with Justin Bieber and Kanye West.

Smilers are bound to learn something new about the star of MTV's October 2 documentary, "Miley: The Movement," which is why MTV News rounded up seven new facts about the "We Can't Stop" singer from her candid new interview.

Miley's Foot Tattoo

For her first-ever Rolling Stone cover, Cyrus wanted to do something "fun." And after ruling out bowling and laser tag, the next step was a tattoo, inking the word "Rolling" on the bottom of her right foot and "$tone" on the bottom of her left.

Will She Twerk Again?

For the past month, fans have not stopped talking -- good or bad -- about Cyrus' Video Music Awards performance with Robin Thicke. Miley revealed she "could have gone further" with the performance and shared that she received supportive messages from Pharrell and Lil' Kim. She wasn't expecting so much backlash following the performance, but still isn't bothered by the haters.

"I wasn't trying to be sexy, if I was trying to be sexy, I could have been sexy. I can dance a lot better than I was dancing..." she said. "People are like, 'Miley thinks she's a black girl, but she's got the flattest ass ever, I'm like, I'm 108 pounds! I know! Now people expect me to come out and twerk with my tongue out all the time. I'll probably never do that sh-- again."

Kanye + Miley = BFF

Kanye West and Cyrus' friendship sparked after the rapper told her backstage at the VMAs, "There are not a lot of artists I believe in more than you right now." Following her much-talked about performance, Cyrus and Kanye hit the studio to record a remix for his song "Black Skinhead."

"Kanye is the sh--," she said. "I kind of have a good relationship with him now. It's good to have someone you can call and be like, 'Yo, do you think I should wear this?' 'Do you think I should go in the studio with this guy?' 'Do you think this is cool?' That's what homeys are supposed to do."

Miley Plays Mentor To Justin Bieber

The two singers hooked up on Lil Twist's "Twerk" track and hang out "a little bit," but when they do, Cyrus tries to guide Bieber in the right direction, admitting that even though they are close in age, she does "mentor him in a way."

"He's trying really hard," she said. "People don't take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing. I just don't want to see him f--- that up, to where people think he's Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, 'You don't want to become a joke. When you go out, don't start sh--. Don't come in shirtless.' But the thing is, I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he's really, like, 12."

Steve Carell Is Not A Fan

Cyrus revealed that she lives at her parent's old house (while her family moved down the block) and is surrounded by some famous neighbors, including Steve Carell. But most likely, he won't be inviting her over for a friendly visit anytime soon.

"He always gives me the stank-eye because I drive so fast," Miley said. "The other day I was trying to reverse and I almost hit a thousand things, and I was getting nervous because I could see him going [annoyed sigh]... I'm like, oh, my god, Dan in Real Life is watching me right now!"

Who Inspired Her "Wrecking Ball" Tears?

Cyrus continued to shock fans with her video for "Wrecking Ball," which had her riding a wrecking ball naked, licking tools and rolling around in her underwear. Beneath the surface, the video sparked "real" emotion for Cyrus, with many assuming she was shedding a tear over her ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth. However, it turns out, she was crying over her dog that just passed away.

Miley Sheds Her Hannah Montana Image

Cyrus has been shedding her Hannah Montana image for quite some time and marks the time she was shooting "LOL" with Demi Moore as the beginning of that transformation, revealing it was there she got her first tattoo without her mom's consent on 8 Mile. Yet, it was last summer in Philadelphia, while living there with Hemsworth, that Cyrus really found herself.

"I was away from people for a minute, and I just started feeling my own vibe. I bought a pair of Doc Martens. I shaved my head. Driving a f---ing Ford Explorer around. Just blending in," Cyrus said.
