"Let's have a drink!" Justin Timberlake declared confidently in Gatsby fashion. JT had won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award earlier in the night after performing a medley of his hits.

Joey Fatone, with Justin's arm around his shoulder, replies shakily, almost theatrical: "Yeah!"

JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass follow one-by-one, each of them mugging for the camera. JC wiggled around some peace signs, Chris played cool guy with a thumbs up and Lance looked surprised as if he had won an award himself, like in 2000 and in 2001.

Their performance left most people at home surprised. And like all hard-core fans watching, celebrities like Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift were jumping out of their seats, dancing in the aisles. Even Wiz Khalifa was shocked, saying, "I don't even understand what I was able to see right there," the Taylor Gang captain said. "To have that go down in our faces was like, 'What the freak?' "
