Austin Mahone Ready For Next Acting Role After 'Big Time Rush' Cameo
Austin Mahone is ready for his close-up! And thanks to Big Time Rush, he's getting it. The VMA-nominated singer is slated to make a cameo on the [article id="1711218"]season finale of BTR's Nick sitcom[/article] airing Thursday (July 25).
While he admitted his role wasn't challenging, he did get some on-the-job training from the foursome. "I had such a great experience filming with Big Time Rush. I play myself so it wasn't too difficult but it was my first time doing any sort of acting, so it was a little scary!" he told MTV News in a statement about the appearance.
"The guys and the crew were so awesome and made the shoot as easy as possible," he added. "It was a really fun thing to do and BTR even taught me some acting tricks so I'll be ready for my next role!"
In addition to a top hat-sporting Mahone, the special airing at 8 p.m. E.T. will also feature appearances from Nick Cannon, Alexa Vega, Karmin, Mindless Behavior and Fabio. "This episode is a fitting ending to season four," BTR's Kendall Schmidt added. "We always try to go big, and we worked hard to make a finale that will make a lasting impression."
Until Mahone pops up in another acting project, his schedule seems pretty jam-packed. He's up for an Artist to Watch, Presented by Taco Bell Moonman at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards for his Colin Tilley-directed [article id="1708731"]"What About Love"[/article] video. This year's VMAs are taking place on August 25 live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Then, in October, he will kick off his [article id="1711229"]headlining tour[/article], sponsored by MTV's Artist to Watch. It begins on October 17 in Miami. The 10-city trek will include his opening acts Becky G, Midnight Red and W3 the Future. It wraps up on October 30 in Royal Oak, MI.
