Hunter Hayes To Get ‘Crazy’ With CMT On Tour!

Let's Be Crazy Tour kicks off October 10. Country star will perform at Wednesday night's 2013 CMT Music Awards.

When it comes to country music, it seems no one is hotter than Hunter Hayes. His star is about to get even brighter: Hayes has been chosen to headline the 12th annual CMT on Tour this fall.

The Let’s Be Crazy Tour will have the platinum-selling “Wanted” singer hitting the road, kicking things off October 10 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The trek, with rising country star Ashley Monroe as its opening act, includes 21 stops in 24 cities, wrapping up December 7 in Kansas City.

Before Hayes hits the road for his own headlining tour, he has a busy few months to get through. The 21-year-old singer will be taking the stage, along with Taylor Swift , to perform at the 2013 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night in Nashville. He is nominated for three awards, including Video of the Year.

Hayes has spent most of the year opening for Carrie Underwood on her “Blown Away” Tour. On his solo trek, he will be performing songs from his forthcoming debut album re-release, Encore — out June 18 — including his favorite, “I Want Crazy.” The album includes eight new or re-reordered songs, including collaborations with Jason Mraz and Monroe.

Hayes will be spending his album release day with MTV as he headlines New York’s Webster Hall for a sold-out show as part of our Artist to Watch series, which will livestream on MTV.com and CMT.com.

“When I was in high school, I would draw a fake schedule, and I’d flip to it, and that was my happy place,” Hayes confessed to MTV News earlier this year. “I dreamed of where I’d be on the road, and now I get these schedules every day, and somebody asked me, ‘Is it as good, or is it not as good?’ No, it’s way better. It’s way cooler. I’m living the dream.”
