Meek Mill has been chasing his dreams for quite some time, and while the Philadelphia MC has seen plenty of lows in his life, he absolutely flourished as a part of Maybach Music Group. His upcoming tour is a reflection.
“I’m just bringing more excitement and making it more entertaining instead of just rapping. The rapping turns it up, ’cause that’s the type of songs I got, but I’m trying to make it more exciting,” Meek told MTV News, promising that he was going to add a few live instruments to his run. The tour kicks off in Boston, Massachusetts and will hit Philadelphia, New York City and Los Angeles before closing on April 28 in San Francisco.
The “I’ma Boss” MC has taken a page out of his mentor Rick Ross’ book and decided to start a label of his own, so instead of just showcasing his talents, Meek will provide some much needed experience for his Dream Chasers artists Lil Snupe, Louie V Gutta, Lee Mazin and Jordanne. “I’m going by who grinding and who working,” he said. “If you grinding and you working and you making progression, you can come out and do ya thing and grind some more on the road with me.”
While the bulk of the material he plans to perform will come from his Dreams & Nightmares LP and his pair of previously released Dreamchasers mixtapes, Meek says there is a chance that he’ll perform new tracks from his upcoming May 6 Dreamchasers 3 mixtape. “I’ma drop a song or two before the mixtape… if they loving it, I’ma love to perform it,” he said.
