Debby Ryan Reveals Spring's Hottest Trends: Watch Now!

MTV News takes the Disney star shopping to check out spring's most fashionable looks.

NEW YORK -- Spring is finally here, which means warm weather is upon us, but, more importantly, it means that it's time to put away the boots and sweaters and update our closets with the hottest new trends. To help us break down what will be lining the clothing racks this spring, MTV News enlisted star of Disney's "Jessie" and fashionista Debby Ryan.

Ryan keeps up-to-date with the latest styles and produces her own web series, "Ryan's Style" on her YouTube channel, which features up-and-coming trends and shows off her personal fashion sense.

"I think my personal style is ever-evolving. It's always kind of moving, it's very simple, it's very clean," Ryan told MTV News. "There's always a balance between the feminine and the masculine. I believe in finding one or more things to highlight."

MTV News brought Ryan to New York's Alice + Olivia and while sifting through the clothes, looking at accessories and finding the perfect spring bag, Ryan broke down the three spring trends. Watch the video to find out what they are!

Black and White

While many immediately associate spring with eye-popping color, this year, it's all about back and white. Prepare to see fashion lovers sporting the 1960s look in heavy stripes and checkered graphics, but don't let the prints fool you -- it's very easy to wear.

"I think that there's something very geometric, simple about it," Ryan said. "It looks good with all sorts of other things. It's a good way to be able to throw in one wild piece or it's a good way to offset denim."

Blue is the New Black

But color lovers, don't fret. For those looking for that statement color this spring, you're in luck, because this 2013 season, blue is the new black. Whether it's royal, electric or a pale blue, it will make your outfit look clean, crisp and, of course, fashionable.

"What I love about that is that it's going to take us into fall," Ryan said, wearing an Alice + Olivia sky blue lace cut-out dress, which is also a strong spring staple. "I love lace and love a high neckline. I think that's amazing, mixed with the body cut and a little bit of a peek-a-boo cut-out, it gives us a little dichotomy. Wherever you're modest, give a little sex appeal somewhere else."

Simple Silhouettes

On days when you're looking to keep things a little more casual, but still want to look like you stepped off the runway, go for chic separates. Mixing in a bright color pant with a peplum top can turn heads during the day and is easily wearable into the night.

"It's the return to the simple silhouette. It's a lack of trend-driven pieces and very much separates," Ryan said. "I feel like peplum has definitely done its thing. It's all over. I don't think you can go wrong with it especially whether or not you have a waist. It works it."
