Meek Mill And Cassidy: Road To A Rumble

After trading words on Twitter for months, Meek Mill finally responds to Cassidy with 'Repo' dis track.

A few months ago Meek Mill scoffed at the thought of engaging in a rap battle with Cassidy, but apparently a little provocation goes a long way. On Wednesday night, the MMG rapper directed the dis track "Repo" at his fellow Philly native, and it looks like this war is ready to rage on.

The contention between the two rappers, and former collaborators, took root back in July when Cassidy began to retweet fans who wondered why he and Meek had not recorded since his career began to skyrocket with MMG. Meek, immediately offended by the implication, tossed some words at Cassidy. "U on some clown sh-- right now," he wrote. "Just say it 2 my face... I'm always home... Y'all b getting beside y'all self with this send button don't confuse this twitter wit real life... #hating."

Things died down after that, but then some twisted words added fuel to the fire again in November. During an interview, Meek admitted that he would love to see Cassidy battle with Murda Mook, and that was misconstrued into news that Meek wanted to face off with Cassidy. Cassidy wasted no time accepting the non-offer, but Meek wasn't having any of it. "Man I said I wanted mook & cassidy to battle.... Mook the king of that sh-- to me!" he wrote. "I'm not battling none of these n---as thats not popping! I'm popping some of these n---as gotta pay me 2 do dat!"

Someone actually did offer to pay them to battle, $100, 000 to be exact, but still Meek wasn't really into it. Cassidy's response? "I paved the way for these dudes.. N---as is scared! That would be the easiest 100k I ever made in my life.. It's like taking candy from a baby..." The shots then continued, with Meek trashing one of Cassidy's most popular hits. "You can't pave the way wit 'come 2 my hotel' @CASSIDY_LARSINY."

With Meek still trying to distance himself, Cassidy got things started with the possible dis track "The Diary of a Hustla" in mid-November, followed by the definite dis track "Condom Style" a month later. Meek took to Instagram to trash the record, calling it, "the worst song in the history of rapping," which prompted Cassidy to hit back with "Me, Myself & iPhone" this weekend. Finally, that seemed to be the tipping point for Meek. On December 22, the Dreams and Nightmares rapper responded, "Listening 2 this diss..... Ima say cuz you lost ya mind! U really gone up top mentally ...... I feel sorry for u! Lol," and followed up with his own jabs on "Repo."

As it stands, it's Cassidy's turn to respond, and fans seem to be throwing equal support behind both rappers.
