One Direction Releasing 'Live While We're Young' Weeks Early

After video leaks online Thursday, boy-banders push up release of their lead single and clip off 'Take Me Home.'

If you thought "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing" were inescapable ear candy, then One Direction fans and pop music lovers might not be able to resist the band's latest single, the bouncy [article id="1692383"]"Live While We're Young."[/article]

While the guys were expected to drop the song on October 1, just as the single and the [article id="1692614"]video[/article] were leaked on Thursday (September 20), the boy banders moved up the release date of both, gifting fans with what they had been cooking up in the studio earlier this summer.

And, the song has everything that One Directioners might expect from the guys. It's a bit cheeky, with the guys singing, "Tonight let's get some/ And live while we're young." It's total bubble-gum perfection with jangly guitars and a tap-your-foot-along beat. The sing-songy melody completes the package perfectly as it embodies the track's joie de vivre message.

If you think it's reminiscent of those other 1D singles, it might be because the song was produced by the same folks behind those Up All Night hits, Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk and Savan Kotecha. Just last week, the guys teased fans with the release of the single's [article id="1693888"]camping-themed artwork[/article].

The single is the lead track off their sophomore release, [article id="1692939"]Take Me Home,[/article] will drop in full on November 13. The album is the follow-up to their debut, which dropped Stateside in March and debuted at the top of the charts.

Earlier this summer, MTV News spoke to Niall Horan about the [article id="1688679"]sophomore effort[/article], and he shared that the guys planned on being very hands-on when it came to the release. "The way it works for us, I don't know how everyone else works but, people don't see the meetings that we do, the all-day meetings about the album, and the way the songs are going to be even listed on the back of the album and album artwork," he explained. "We want to have the most control that we possibly can of everything that we do. Like at the moment, I'm just proofreading the single artwork for the next single. They don't see that."
