Now that we are less than a month away from the 2012 Video Music Awards, it's time to expect a flurry of VMA-related news to be rolled out each and every day. In addition to the exciting announcement that comedian Kevin Hart will be handling hosting duties, MTV is proud to reveal that Pink has been added to the already star-studded performer lineup that includes Alicia Keys and One Direction. The five-time VMA winner is slated to debut a new song from her upcoming sixth studio album, The Truth About Love.
"Being a part of the VMAs for me is extra special because my mom never let me used to watch MTV as a little girl," Pink told MTV News recently. "I would watch it anyway but she would also try and ground me but then I would just sneak out my window and go to someone's house that had MTV so to be on MTV is quite ironic."
The Grammy winner's 2012 VMA performance will be her third overall, an experience the singer said she always looks forward to because of the laid-back, rock-and-roll atmosphere of the show.
"It's always one of the more enjoyable shows because it's relaxed and it's kind of rock and roll and unpredictable and everyone is having a good time," she said.
