Tyga Associate Honey Cocaine Performed The Day After Getting Shot

'I'm cool,' Honey tells MTV News two weeks after Omaha show where concertgoers opened fire on Tyga's tour vans.

Honey Cocaine may be nursing just a minor bullet wound, but considering the events that took place March 19, Tyga's rap protégé is taking things surprisingly well.

"The day after I was like, 'You know what? It happened, there's nothing I can do about it but just be safer, be more aware and just live life,' " the pint-sized MC told MTV News on Monday night while on the set of Tyga's "I'm Gone" video shoot in Lynwood, California.

Honey, who hails from Toronto, Canada, was shot in the arm following [article id="1681398"]Tyga's tour stop in Omaha, Nebraska[/article]. Police reports confirmed that she was treated at the hospital following the shoot-out, but still the rap rookie performed on the next tour date. "It happened, but I'm cool, I performed the next day, 'cause I was just like, 'F--- it,'" she said.

The confrontation began while Tyga was onstage getting set to perform his hit single "Rack City" when a group of concertgoers began to throw things on stage. Tyga, who was clearly upset, began to bait the rowdy crowd and things escalated. After the show, the assailants fired upon one of the Young Money rapper's tour vans, hitting two members of his entourage. Honey believes that all the drama began after Tyga denied a local group's request to open for him at the show. "I guess Tyga didn't want it," she said. "He's the boss, that's his show, so I guess he just didn't want it and they had gotten really angry and started doing really disrespectful things like throwing bottles on stage, and Tyga just retaliated and responded."

At the time of the shooting, Honey says she wasn't sure what was happening.

"I was clueless, all I was told was the venue had some angry people and you should just do what you gotta do, get out," she said. "That's what I did. I left and still got hit."
