[artist id="509026"]Christina Aguilera[/artist] will make her feature-film debut in "Burlesque," when it opens in just under two weeks, but on Monday (November 15), the singer had another reason to celebrate, as she became the latest inductee to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Aguilera was all smiles as she posed alongside her star and spoke to her legion of fans about the career milestone.
"Oh my goodness! Can I tell you how amazing it is to look around and see all of your fabulous faces here today?" she said, according to The Associated Press. "Thank you so much for coming out to support me and support this amazing, incredible day in my life," the pop star said in an acceptance speech.
Recalling early childhood memories, the 29-year-old star told the crowd about visiting the local record store with her mother and grandmother, where she listened to music by the greats, many of whom also have stars cemented on the Walk of Fame.
The songstress, who has experienced her share of professional and personal setbacks this year, was honored for her achievements in the recording industry. Her star marks the 2,432nd addition to the famous Walk, and Aguilera joins the ranks of her musical idols, including Etta James and "Burlesque" co-star Cher.
The singer ended her speech by urging her fans to always be ambitious, saying, "Dream big, everybody, because I worked very hard for this moment and I want to thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to share it with all of you. I love you!"
What's next for Aguilera? The singer is working on the follow-up to Bionic and will grace the American Music Awards stage on Sunday, where she'll perform a song from "Burlesque."
