Lloyd On Polow Da Don: 'It's Like Michael And Quincy'

'It's like Justin and Timbaland, Usher and Jermaine,' 'King of Hearts' singer says of bond with his producer.

In pairing with [artist id="2424899"]Polow Da Don[/artist], [artist id="1245019"]Lloyd[/artist] said he's found his musical partner, the producer that he can make a historic run with along the lines of some of the most dynamic duos in pop history.

"In my opinion, and this is a bold statement, but it's like Michael and Quincy, it's like Justin and Timbaland, Usher and Jermaine," Lloyd told MTV News. "It's that consistency that you can only find from really finding the right chemistry with the right person. As an artist, I can speak for everyone when I say chemistry is a big, big part of success.

Currently, "Lay It Down," the Polow Da Don-produced single from Lloyd's forthcoming [article id="1649916"]King of Hearts album[/article], is a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hip-Hop and R&B chart.

Lloyd inked a deal with Interscope Records for the album after spending years with Irv Gotti on the Inc.'s roster.

Earlier this year, the Atlanta singer [article id="1645803"]spoke about his producer's dedication[/article] while on the set of Lloyd Banks' "Any Girl" video, which Lloyd is featured in.

"He's dedicated," Lloyd said of Polow. "The greatest thing about Polow is there's no amount of time that's unnecessary when it comes to making something the best, whether it takes two days or two months for one track. I've seen Polow sit with one song for six days and perfect it. You can hear the difference in the quality against someone else's music. It sounds completely different."
