Drake Says He Wrote Alicia Keys' 'Un-Thinkable' About Nicki Minaj

Rapper admits that Minaj was his inspiration for the forbidden-love track.

On her single "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)," Alicia Keys sings the tale of a tempting and forbidden love that may not be accepted by everyone. The song, which was co-written by Drake, has been rumored to be the story of Keys' own personal experiences. But who would have thought that the song was also inspired by the Toronto MC's feelings about Nicki Minaj?

In a recent interview with BET.com, the Young Money rapper confirmed speculation that he wrote the song with the Harajuku Barbie in mind.

"It is [about Minaj], I'm not gonna lie," Drake said. "The concept came from a conversation that we had, or conversations we have. I wrote it based off two things: Number one, based off that, and then two, based off Alicia and Swizz and their situation, and it just seemed fitting. It was like the perfect concept."

It was Minaj who originally spilled the beans and revealed that she was Drake's "Un-Thinkable" inspiration. In a recent interview with Complex, Nicki said, "You know what else he told me he wrote for me? The Alicia Keys song 'I'm Ready.' I happen to love the song. I never told anyone that; I hope he won't get mad that I said that."

Despite the rappers' supposed brother-and-sister relationship, the duo have raised eyebrows with their [article id="1646718"]short-term Twitter marriage[/article] and [article id="1641523"]Drake's admitted crush on Nicki[/article]. In an interview with MTV2's "Sucker Free Countdown," Drizzy admitted he's always had love for Minaj, saying, "I've always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she's always just looked at me as, like, her little brother."

Co-produced by Drake's right-hand man Noah "40" Shebib, "Un-Thinkable" served as the third single from Keys' latest album, The Element of Freedom. After the song's release, [article id="1639548"]Drake reworked the track to include a new verse[/article].
