Kanye West's Greatest Blog Moments

'Why won't you let me be great?,' 'South Park' and more all-caps greatness.

Even when he decided to lay low following his [article id="1621389"]interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech[/article] at the 2009 Video Music Awards, Kanye West has remained connected to his fans and admirers via his blog. In between posts about video premieres, friends' songs, and looks, books and anything else he's excited about, Kanye has populated his blog with delightfully sprawling rants about whatever happened to be bothering him on any given day.

He has also often responded to criticism in this way, constructing long diatribes that, because they are almost always published in all capital letters, can come across as the rantings of a madman.

Kanye launched his long-promised new blog, KanyeWest.com,>, on Wednesday (February 24), and although at press time it only featured a provocative photo of his girlfriend Amber Rose and his new [article id="1632584"]"Coldest Winter" video[/article] (and its relation to his Kanye UniverCity site, which includes his blog, remains unclear at press time), it feels like a good time to roll out our favorite Kanye blog moments.

» After many fans publicly complained about his performance at the 2008 Bonnaroo festival (where there were issues over his set time, which ended up being in the wee hours of the morning), he [article id="1589926"]took to his blog[/article] to get his feelings off his chest. "I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall," West wrote. "Why???? I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much. But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been ... this is the maddest I ever will be."

» West had similar bile reserved for the Web site that suggested that he would be [article id="1603380"]involved in a porno film[/article]

back in January of 2009. The rapper was frustrated that he had been brought down just after performing for Barack Obama and debuting his new Louis Vuitton shoes.

"Yoooo, why won't you let me be great!!!" he wrote (again, always in all-caps). "I had the two greatest days of my life, and when I get back from the Louie [sic] show, I read some sh-- claiming I said I'm down to do porn and some bisexual porn!!!! I can't believe the AVN [Adult Video News] would post [that story]."

» However, his blog hasn't always been reserved for rage. After a [article id="1608939"]2009 episode of "South Park"[/article]

eviscerated him, West took to the site not to rage at the show's creators but to share some things he realized about himself. " 'South Park' murdered me last night, and it's pretty funny. It hurts my feelings, but what can you expect from 'South Park?'" he wrote. "I actually have been working on my ego. ... Having the crazy ego is played out at this point in my life and career. I used to use it to build up my esteem when nobody believed in me. Now that people do believe and support my music, the best response is 'Thank you' instead of 'I told you so!' I just wanna be a doper person, which starts with me not always telling people how dope I think I am. I need to just get past myself. Drop the bravado and just make dope product."
