As [article id="1628613"]friends[/article] and [article id="1628615"]family[/article] mourn Brittany Murphy after her sudden [article id="1628612"]death on Sunday[/article], media outlets and colleagues have revealed that in recent encounters, the actress seemed optimistic about her upcoming year.

Speaking to "Access Hollywood" on December 3 at the Tt Collection Pop-Up Party in Los Angeles, her reported last public appearance, Murphy said she and her husband were talking about starting a family in 2010.

"As far as having a New Year's resolution, I'd love to have a child next year," the 32-year-old said. "But that's kind of a large one!"

She said she felt lucky she got to spend so much time with her family. "I've been very blessed to have a really great, loving husband [Simon Monjack]," she added. "I spend more time with my family than anyone else in the world."

On December 2, Murphy made an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere for her film "Across the Hall." The film's director, Alex Merkin, told People magazine that she was "incredibly hard-working and dedicated and obviously very talented.

"This is all very shocking," he added. "I'm trying to wrap my head around it. ... Even when she had a lot of things going on in her life, she was always there."

Murphy attended the film premiere just days after leaving the set of the movie "The Caller" in Puerto Rico, according to People. In response to rumors that she was fired from that production, her rep said, "[Due] to creative differences, Ms. Murphy and the production mutually parted ways."

While at the premiere for "Across the Hall," Merkin said, "I just remember she was going through a lot at the time surrounding her husband being in the hospital. I know that he had been released from the hospital, and whatever she was dealing with at home, she had already signed up to come and support the film."
