Jonas Brothers Cancel Concert Due To Nick Jonas' Illness

Band released statement shortly before Zurich show stating Nick 'is ill with an upper respiratory infection.'

The [artist id="2088128"]Jonas Brothers[/artist] can be added to the list of artists who have canceled concerts recently due to illness (yes, we're talking about you [article id="1624768"]Paramore[/article] and [article id="1623139"]Miley Cyrus[/article]). The band had to cancel a show over the weekend due to Nick Jonas' upper respiratory infection.

The guys were all set to play a concert in Zurich on Saturday when they canceled at the last minute and released a statement on their Twitter apologizing to fans: "We are sad to announce the cancellation of the Jonas Brothers concert for this evening in Zurich," the statement reads. "Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers is ill with an upper respiratory infection of the nose and throat and the doctor has advised that he not speak or sing."

The band notes that this is the first time they "have ever cancelled a show for sickness and deeply regret that they will not be able to perform as a group tonight. The band, the management, and the promoter apologize that the show must be cancelled on such short notice," they wrote. "We will do everything we can to revisit Zurich in the future and perform for our wonderful fans."

The guys plan to return to the stage for a concert in Bilbao, Spain, on Tuesday. On Sunday, Nick tweeted, "I am happy to tell everyone that I woke up this morning and I'm already feeling better! Thanks for all the prayers. Can't wait to rock Bilbao!"

In other Jonas Brothers news, their TV show, "Jonas," has been picked up for a second season on the Disney Channel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show's second season is set to start production in February and premiere later next year. The Disney reality show "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream" has also been picked up for additional episodes.
