For the past few weeks, there have been rumors swirling that "Camp Rock" costars Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas have transformed their onscreen love into real life. After being spotted out together several times recently, fans and the media began to assume that the pair had fallen for one another.

But according to Lovato herself, this couldn't be further from the truth. "There's been a lot of rumors lately that I'm dating one of my best friends Joe [Jonas]," she tweeted. "I can promise my entire career that I am not. We've NEVER dated. He's incredible, but we don't have feelings for each other in that way. I love you guys, and I wouldn't lie about that."

This isn't the first famous guy that Lovato has been linked to. Earlier this year, she dated [article id="1616649"]Miley Cyrus' older brother and Metro Station singer Trace Cyrus[/article]. And Joe Jonas in turn has had his name linked to quite a few starlets, ranging from [article id="1617022"]Camilla Belle[/article] to [article id="1599318"]Taylor Swift[/article]. In her tweets, Lovato notes that having rumors spread about your personal life is part of the way Hollywood works.

"It's unfortunate that some people out there are so desperate for attention that they have to make up gossip to keep their site alive," she wrote. "But that's how this whole city works I guess. It just makes me sad that people are that mean in this world. ... Believe what you want, love me or hate me. I can't change your mind for you so do what you want! True fans (friends) are here for me forever."
