Lady Gaga Works With Dr. Dre To Create Heartbeats Headphones

'I wanted to be a part of this revolutionary system,' she says of designing high-quality headphones.

[artist id="3061469"]Lady Gaga[/artist] and Dr. Dre have yet to work together in the studio, but the two have paired up to create Heartbeats headphones for Beats by Dr. Dre, which they hope will help listeners enjoy music the way the two stars intended for it to be heard.

Gaga was excited to create the headphones for her fans and was thrilled to be able to collaborate with another musician she respects. "Well, first of all, in my opinion Dre is one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time, and his ear is so impeccable," she told MTV News. "And as a person, I knew that we could create something that I would stand by as an artist."

She explained that creating a product such as headphones isn't too far from creating music. "I don't see the headphones as separate from what I already do. That's why I was OK with doing it, 'cause designing and putting out products is something that is very kind of funny when you're a musician -- 'cause I don't want my fans or anyone to think that I don't put the music first."

In fact, knowing that her fans are younger and most likely listen to music through computer speakers was part of the inspiration behind creating headphones that would improve their experience.

"We live in a digital era where everything is getting squashed and kind of murdered as it travels over the Internet," she said. "When I do mixes, I listen to them through laptops -- in reality, that's how kids are going to hear it. I wanted to be a part of this revolutionary system that is so inspiring."
