‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It’ Will Give Fans ‘Closure,’ Dancers Say

'Fans are going to get a good little sneak peek into Michael,' one MJ dancer promises.

[artist id="1102"]Michael Jackson[/artist] was deep into preparation with his dancers in the days before his death in June. In “Michael Jackson’s This Is It,” he can be seen working out routines side by side with those dancers, trying to work out the last-minute kinks before the crew was set to take the stage at London’s O2 arena in July.

Unfortunately, those concerts never happened, but his dance troupe thinks the movie, at least, will allow fans to see what they missed out on.

“I think the fans are going to get a good little sneak peek into Michael, who Michael was,” Mekia Cox told MTV News. “I think it will be good for the fans to see him on his last couple nights with us and to see how strong he was and to see that he was still the Michael we remember. I think that just that in itself will give the fans some closure.”

Fellow dancer Mischa Hamilton said the film proves just how progressive and innovative Jackson was in the dance community. “If we’re talking about simply dance here coming from a dancer’s perspective, Michael knows things about dance that a lot of today’s generation doesn’t know,” Hamilton said. “He knows a lot of things about dance that the past generation doesn’t know. He’s got the best of everything.”

Additionally, dancer Devin Jamieson said Jackson hoped to heal the world, as he once sang, with the This Is It shows. “I consider it a movement,” Jamieson explained. “I consider what Michael was really wanting to do a movement. He was an activist. He wanted to change the world. He wanted to make the world a better place.”
