Dawn Richard Says 'Making The Band' Finale Had A 'Great Energy'

'I'm happy with the positivity at the finale,' the former Danity Kane member says.

Dawn Richard is in some ways [artist id="2400155"]Danity Kane[/artist]'s last woman standing. She is the only member of the former girl group who is still signed to Bad Boy and still working with Diddy on new music.

When MTV News spoke to Richard on Friday morning (April 24), just a few hours after she and most of the other girls of Danity Kane reunited for the [article id="1609943"]season-three finale of "Making the Band 4,"[/article] Dawn didn't really know why she ended up being the only DK member with a Bad Boy contract.

"I sucked the juice out of it," said Richard, who added that she has no reservations about still being on Bad Boy and working with Diddy on his [article id="1605364"]Last Train to Paris[/article] album. "I hung in there as long as I could. I'm happy with the positivity at the finale. ... I don't know those answers about why he chose me. I'm happy that he wanted to move forward with me."

She also said that she was happy to have been with her former bandmates. "Everybody looked beautiful," she said about reuniting with everyone except [article id="1609473"]Aundrea Fimbres, who had been let out of her contract[/article] in the episode that aired a week before. "I was happy everyone moved forward. It was great."

Before hitting the stage, Richard said she "wasn't nervous. I've had some great shows and moments. It was great energy." She also had no clue that Fimbres was opting out of the reunion. "I didn't know, but I hope she's doing well."

The girls remained very composed for their reunion, and Richard promises that things were just as friendly between all four girls and Diddy backstage. "I pray for the best on the other girls."
