My Chemical Romance's 'Murder' DVD Just Got Bigger

Live material, demos, TV appearances galore on three-disc CD/DVD set.

It looks like early reports about the upcoming My Chemical Romance DVD were inaccurate -- by one disc.

Originally, the scoop on "Life on the Murder Scene" -- the DVD encapsulating 12 months in the life of MCR (see [article id="1511540"]"My Chemical Romance Plot 'Murder' For Early Next Year"[/article]) -- was that it would be a two-disc affair, a CD/DVD combo, featuring rare tracks and demos plus live performances and an "exclusive video diary." But on Wednesday (January 18), the band's label, Reprise Records, confirmed that Murder Scene will actually be a three-disc release, featuring one CD and two DVDs.

The CD features live tracks taken from My Chem's "MTV2 $2 Bill" performance, a session they taped for AOL, a gig at New Jersey's Starland Ballroom (see [article id="1495859"]"Taking Back Sunday, MCR Unite For Tsunami Benefit -- Even The Bouncers Sing Along"[/article]), plus studio demos and one unreleased tune, "Desert Song," taken from the Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge sessions.

The first DVD features the aforementioned MCR video diary, while the second disc is packed with live footage (from the "$2 Bill" show and the Starland gig), TV appearances ("Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and MTV's "Discover and Download"), performances taped for various online music outlets, plus music videos (including both versions of the clip for their breakout single "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)") and behind-the-scenes footage taken from the sets of those videos.

Life on the Murder Scene is due in stores on March 21, right around the time MCR are scheduled to begin serious work on their new album. Currently, the guys are in the very early stages of writing new material, and their only confirmed public appearance is a two-night headlining slot at England's Give It a Name Festival, April 29 and 30 in London and Manchester.

The track list for the CD in My Chemical Romance's Life on the Murder Scene, according to Reprise:

  • "Thank You for the Venom"
  • "Cemetery Drive"
  • "Give 'Em Hell Kid"
  • "Headfirst for Halos"
  • "Helena"
  • "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison"
  • "The Ghost of You"
  • "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)"
  • "I Never Told You What I Do for a Living" (demo)
