Former 10,000 Maniacs singer Natalie Merchant stopped by

the Boys and Girls Club in her hometown of Jamestown, N.Y., last week for both

good times and good works. "She just hung out with the kids during their

end-of-Easter-Break party," said Merchant publicist Jim Flammia of the

low-key appearance. Merchant also used the occasion to make a donation of

an undisclosed amount to the youth organization, which will be used for

programs helping pregnant teens and for youths in anger management training.
