Common Drops Off Kanye's Touch The Sky Tour Just Hours Before Kickoff

Rapper lands film role that requires him to leave outing.

MIAMI -- Kanye West is kicking off his Touch the Sky Tour on Tuesday night in Miami, but he'll be doing it without one of the bill's scheduled performers.

Common, who is signed to Kanye's GOOD Music label, has just landed a film role -- and while that's good news for Common, it's bad news for those who had hoped to see him on the road with Ye (see [article id="1509583"]"Kanye Announces North American Tour Dates"[/article]). The scheduling demands of the film have prompted Common to drop off the tour completely.

On Tuesday (October 11), West said he would've loved to have had Com go out on the road with him as planned, but that he fully supports his friend's decision. Kanye said there isn't going to be a replacement for Common, and he'll fill the void by performing more of his own songs. Fantasia and Keyshia Cole are still performing as opening acts.

Taraji Henson, who stars in Common's "Testify" video, will also appear in the film, but no additional details are available.
