Clapton Funds Rehab Center

Blues-rocker Eric Clapton has earmarked an undisclosed amount of money to fund a 12-step-style drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility called Crossroads Center on the Caribbean island of Antigua. The legendary guitarist, himself a recovering addict, chose the island because it is the site of his vacation home and "because he wants to help the people of the Caribbean with these kinds of problems, since there is very little help available there for these problems," according to Anne Vance, executive director of the 36-bed adult residential treatment center, which is slated to open in the fall.
