After her Metamorphosis from kiddie cult-figure Lizzie McGuire to pop star, Hilary Duff is stepping up to the mic again to release her sophomore album.
The self-titled LP from pop's reigning good girl features such tracks as "Haters," "Mr. James Dean," "Do You Want Me" and "Fly."
Marilyn Manson, just a little more rock and roll and a tad less blond, will release his greatest-hits album, Lest We Forget: The Best of Marilyn Manson, which he's calling his "farewell compilation." The first single is a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus"; other tracks on the LP include "The Dope Show" and "The Beautiful People."
Eighteen-year-old Ciara, who lorded over the singles chart for weeks with her first song, "Goodies," releases her debut album of the same name. Ciara had a bevy of heavily qualified helpers for her album, including Lil Jon, Missy Elliott and Ludacris.
It had been four years since the original Wu-Tang Clan lineup played together when they reunited in July to play at the Rock the Bells festival in San Bernardino, California. Disciples of the 36 Chambers is the live album created from that performance, and features tracks like "C.R.E.A.M." and "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' Ta F' Wit."
Utah rockers the Used, who have dropped an album a year since 2002, release their newest effort, In Love and Death.
Soulful young songstress Joss Stone releases her second LP, Mind, Body & Soul. New York-bred indie darlings Interpol are poised to tip over to the mainstream with their slightly sunnier second album, Antics. Brian Wilson, Beach Boys founder and eccentric composer in his own right, releases his previously unreleased 1967 album, Smile.
Also out this week are albums by Disturbing Tha Peace member Shawnna (Worth Tha Weight), Widespread Panic (Jackassolantern), Better Than Ezra (Live at House of Blues New Orleans), Cradle of Filth (Nymphetamine) and the Delgados (Universal Audio).
