TLC's Chilli Finding A Warm Reception In Hollywood

With solo album in limbo, she's been showing up on TV.

Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas will resume working on her solo album as soon as she hangs up her acting hat.

The TLC member has recorded at least two songs with producer Rodney Jerkins (Destiny's Child, Britney Spears) and a few more with a host of other producers, her manager said. Chilli hopes to release her still-untitled solo debut as soon as the dust settles from RCA's absorption of Arista Records, with whom she'd signed a solo deal.

Chilli has spent the past 10 days in Los Angeles filming an episode of the Lifetime Television hospital drama "Strong Medicine." The role comes on the heels of her guest spot on the UPN sitcom "The Parkers," in which she portrayed Kai, the girl of T's dreams who turned out to be HIV-positive. Her management is also trying to develop a TV series around the singer.

News of acting projects comes amidst false reports that she was assaulted by Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.

"I feel the need to respond to a malicious rumor circulating in the media today that I was beaten up by Ray Lewis last night and that I am in a hospital in Baltimore," read a statement released by her management Tuesday (April 27). "The last time I was in Baltimore was while on tour with TLC in 1999. I don't know how this rumor got started, or who started it, but I want to make it clear that it is totally false."
