Fabolous Arrested Twice In Two Days

Rapper nabbed on weapons charges, driving with suspended license.

Fabolous was arrested not once but twice this week in New York -- for driving with a suspended license on Wednesday, and for weapons charges on Thursday.

The rapper, whose real name is John Jackson, was arrested Thursday evening in Brooklyn after a Suburban in which he was a passenger ran a red light. According to Brooklyn police, officers saw a gun handle sticking out of the back seat when they approached the vehicle. During a search, a second gun was discovered. A fellow passenger named Rascharm Davis and the driver, Reginald Rivers, were also arrested.

At an arraignment hearing at the Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday afternoon (January 17), the rapper was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, making the alleged crime a class C felony, according to the Brooklyn district attorney's office. Jackson faces up to 15 years for the charge. He was released on his own recognizance.

On Wednesday, the rapper was pulled over for making an illegal left turn in Manhattan's Lower East Side, and subsequently arrested for driving his Range Rover with a suspended license. He pleaded guilty in Manhattan Criminal Court and paid a $50 fine for the charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to the Manhattan district attorney's office.

Jackson is due back in Brooklyn Criminal Court on February 13.
