Man Shot To Death During Sean Paul Video Shoot

Ramesh Christie, a 21-year-old onlooker, killed on same block as 'Get Busy' video set.

Crossover reggae star Sean Paul was in the Toronto suburb of Vaughan filming the video for his new single, "Get Busy," on Monday evening when Ramesh Christie, a 21-year-old onlooker, was shot as he sat in his white SUV on the same block as the video set.

Christie escaped his car and tried to get away as his assailants continued to shoot at him, but he collapsed nearby. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured during the shooting.

The Little X-directed video shoot was stopped as police began investigating the crime scene and questioning everyone present. According to a police rep, the victim was not part of the video's crew or talent. Police are looking for two black male suspects in their late teens or early 20s who were driving a black SUV at the time of the shooting.

"I was deeply saddened to hear that a shooting occurred last night in the vicinity of my video shoot," Sean Paul, enjoying success with his recent hit "Gimme the Light," said in a statement. "Although I did not witness the incident, my sympathy and prayers go out to the victim's family and to those who have been affected by this tragedy. We must overcome violence and hatred. All life is precious. Respect."
