DMX Scraps Summer Tour, Grinds Away On Two LPs
DMX has put his planned summer Bloodline Tour on hold to finish a movie and
two upcoming albums.
The Ruff Ryders rapper is nearly done filming "Cradle 2 the Grave" with
co-star Jet Li (see [article id="1451757"]"DMX Sets Sights On Bloodline Tour, Jet Li Flick, PSAs"[/article]), after which he will work on his as-yet-untitled fifth solo album and the soundtrack to the action flick.
"I'll put out [the solo] one this fall, and the soundtrack in January," X
said at Saturday's taping of the MTV Movie Awards, where he introduced the
latest artist on his Bloodline Records label. "This is Asia. I'm going to
put her on the soundtrack."
X has not yet planned any high-profile collaborations for his solo album and said he may just keep the guests within the Bloodline family, which includes newcomers Big Stan, Kashmere and Loose.
As for when DMX will hit the road next, his management said that all plans
are "up in the air."
Meanwhile, new material from X, who lost the Breakthrough Male Performance
award to Orlando Bloom of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the
Ring," is included on the "Bad Company" soundtrack, released Tuesday (June 4) (see [article id="1453788"]"D12, St. Lunatics, Outkast, DMX Are 'Bad' "[/article]).
