P.O.D. To Compete In International Ping-Pong Tournament — In Next Video

Clip for 'Boom' to surface later this month.

P.O.D.'s next single, "Boom," stands ready to blow up at radio next week, and while the song's accompanying video isn't exactly a sing-along, viewers will be able to follow the bouncing ball.

A table tennis tournament sets the tone for the clip, which was filmed by director Gavin Bowden (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lifehouse) Tuesday and Wednesday in San Diego. Set in the Cox Arena, the quartet is shown competing in the ping-pong play-offs against teams from China, Sweden and France. The video is expected to surface later this month.

"Boom" was selected to be P.O.D.'s next radio salvo in December, but the group waited until "Youth of the Nation," the second single from their latest album, Satellite, aged a bit on the airwaves before releasing it (see [article id="1451330"]"P.O.D. To Drop 'Boom,' DVD"[/article]). The debut single from the LP was "Alive."

P.O.D. have one U.S. show scheduled, for April 21 in Woodlands, Texas, before they embark on a European tour until the end of May. The group will then take to the Ozzfest main stage, along with System of a Down, Drowning Pool and Ozzy Osbourne, beginning July 6 in Bristow, Virginia (see [article id="1453005"]"Ozzfest Lands Rage/Chris Cornell, P.O.D., Rob Zombie, More"[/article]). The Rage Against the Machine/Chris Cornell project previously confirmed for the trek withdrew days after the lineup was announced (see [article id="1453052"]"Chris Cornell Quits New Rage Project"[/article]).

Since its release in September, Satellite has sold more than 1.9 million copies, according to SoundScan.
