Alice Cooper, Horror Guild Living Legend, Coming To A Casino Near You
Snake-hugging, chicken-tossing, "No More Mr. Nice Guy"-singing Alice Cooper will launch a fall tour to promote his latest album, Dragontown.
The veteran shock rocker will kick off the trek September 29 in Las Vegas
and wrap up November 9 in Pompano Beach, Florida, according to Spitfire
Records. The tour includes a special Halloween show at New York's
Roseland on October 31.
Dragontown, due October 9, is the follow-up to last year's Brutal
Planet and again finds Cooper collaborating with producer and
multi-instrumentalist Bob Marlette. Bob Ezrin (Kiss, Pink Floyd) co-produced
the new record. One track, "Triggerman," is currently available to download
on Cooper's official Web site (www.alicecooper.com).
In other Cooper news, the International Horror Guild will present him with
the Living Legend Award on Saturday for substantially
influencing the horror and dark fantasy fields. Cooper is the first musician to
be honored with the award, which has gone to authors such as Ray Bradbury and
Clive Barker in the past.
Cooper will receive the award at Dragon*Con, an annual science fiction,
fantasy, horror and comics convention, in Atlanta.
